ESCANABA, MI— OSF St. Francis hospital was on lockdown for a brief time Wednesday, following a call that indicated a man with a rifle was hiding near the emergency room entrance.
The Escanaba Department of Public Safety responded to the hospital around 12:30 p.m. and immediately made contact with the person in question. No firearms were found.
The caller is facing criminal charges for making a fictitious phone call.
The lockdown was lifted as soon as officers determined there was no threat to the hospital.
