ST. IGNACE, MI— A St. Ignace man has been arrested on child pornography-related charges.
The Michigan State Police Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says Tyrel Matson, 18, was arrested after it was learned he was viewing files of child sexually abusive material on the internet.
Following a search of his residence, Matson was charged with four counts of possession of child sexually abusive material, one count of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, and five counts of using a computer to commit a crime.
Matson was arraigned Friday in 92nd District Court. He was released on a personal recognizance bond.
If convicted, Matson faces up to 24 years in prison.
