100 grams of meth seized in Ironwood drug investigation

IRONWOOD, MI— Four people face felony charges in relation to a meth bust in Ironwood.

In March, the Gogebic-Iron Area Narcotics Team conducted a joint investigation with the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team regarding an individual who was selling meth in the city. Officers uncovered information about where the meth was being purchased and a planned trip to pick up more of the drug.

On April 29, a traffic stop was conducted on John Wodie, who was arrested. A search warrant executed on his vehicle uncovered about 80 grams of meth in the trunk.

On May 1, UPSET and GIANT searched an Ironwood residence. They seized more meth and a firearm, and three more suspects were arrested.

A total of 100 grams of meth was seized throughout the investigation.

All four suspects have been arraigned in 98th District Court. They remain lodged in the Gogebic County Jail.
