Kincheloe man nabbed for selling meth and semi-automatic rifle

KINCHELOE, MI— A Chippewa County man has been arrested by the Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce on drug and weapons charges.

TRIDENT had been investigating Rocky James Suggitt, 21, of Kincheloe for meth trafficking when officers learned he had a gun for sale. They made several controlled buys of meth in hopes of also purchasing the gun.

On May 20th, detectives purchased meth and a fully loaded, semi-automatic rifle from Suggitt. He is a convicted felon and isn’t allowed to own guns or ammunition.

Suggitt fled on foot when law enforcement approached his residence. Officers caught him in the backyard of a neighbor’s home.

A search warrant executed at Suggitt’s residence uncovered additional evidence.

Suggitt is charged as follows:

  • 4 counts of Delivery of Meth
  • Felony Firearms
  • Firearm possession by a Felon
  • Ammunition possession by a Felon
  • 2 counts, Weapons Offense
  • Felony sale of firearm
  • Felony sale of ammunition

Suggitt remains lodged in the Chippewa County Jail on a $150,000 bond. If he posts bond, he must wear a tether so police can track him.
