AMBERG, WI— The Marinette County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatal shooting in the town of Amberg.
Deputies were dispatched around 8:10 p.m. Monday to a residence and found William H. Freed deceased. The location was secured.
Officials say a woman was taken into custody and there is no threat to the public.
The case remains under investigation.
Assisting the Sheriff’s Office are the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office, the Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, and the Niagara Police Department.
