Suspect in Menominee store robbery arrested Monday

MENOMINEE, MI— A Marinette man is jailed, after he tried to rob a Menominee business.

Menominee County Prosecutor Jeffrey Rogg says Robert Wilson, 42, went to the liquor department of Jack’s Fresh Market Monday around 8:30 p.m. He handed the cashier a note that allegedly said, “I have a gun. Give me the money and no one gets hurt.” The cashier said Wilson also put his hand in his pocket to mimic holding a gun.

Wilson left the store with $770.00.

Menominee Police officers reviewed store surveillance footage. Wilson was located at the nearby Holiday Gas Station, identified as the suspect, and arrested.

He’s charged with armed robbery and assault with intent to rob while armed. Wilson remains lodged in the Menominee County Jail on a $150,000 cash/surety bond.
