Body of missing Escanaba woman found in Delta County woods

FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP, MI— The body of a woman was found in Ford River Township on Saturday.

The Delta County Sheriff’s Office says Harley Corwin, 22, of Escanaba was discovered in the woods. She had previously been reported missing to Escanaba Public Safety.

During a joint investigation, a person of interest was interviewed and subsequently arrested. The suspect is lodged in the Delta County Jail, pending arraignment.

The investigation is being conducted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Office and Escanaba Public Safety.

Assisting at the scene were the Michigan State Police Crime Lab, Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post, Delta County Search and Rescue, the Delta County medical examiner, and the Delta County Prosecutor’s Office.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
