A bicyclist was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Marinette on Saturday. County Dispatch received a call around 2-18 a-m that the rider was struck on the US-41 Interstate Bridge. Officers found an unresponsive 48-year-old man and started lifesaving measures, but the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. His name is being withheld, pending notification of family.
Police have identified a person of interest and located the suspect vehicle, which fled the scene.
Assisting at the scene were the Marinette Fire Department, Aurora Medical Center – Bay Area EMS, Marinette Emergency Rescue Squad, Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, Marinette County Medical Examiner’s Office, Menominee Fire Department, and Menominee Police Department.
