Suspect in Ishpeming stabbing arraigned

Ishpeming, MI - The suspect in a road-rage-fueled stabbing in Ishpeming last week has been arraigned.

Jonathan Jay Bluebird, 29, is charged with assault with intent to do great bodily harm less than murder. He was arrested near the intersection of Division and Main Streets early Thursday morning. The victim was an out-of-state man.

Bluebird remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $25,000 bond. A probable cause conference is set for July 27th and a preliminary hearing for August 3rd in Marquette County District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
