Escanaba stabbing leads to arrest of male suspect

ESCANABA, MI— Police are investigating a stabbing in Escanaba.

Thursday around 6:30 p.m., Escanaba Public Safety was dispatched to the 1300 block of 1st Avenue North and found a man with a stab wound in his forearm. The man was taken to St. Francis Hospital for treatment.

Officers say multiple weapons were involved in the incident.

A man was arrested and additional charges are pending.

Officers were assisted by the Delta County Sheriff’s Office, Michigan State Police, and Rampart EMS.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
