Soo man a fugitive after he cuts his tether

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a fugitive who cut his GPS tether.

Jesse Churchill, 36, of Sault Ste. Marie has three separate felony cases pending against him in Chippewa County Courts. They involve delivery of meth, conspiracy to deliver meth, resisting and obstructing police, delivery of suboxone, and conspiring to furnish contraband to prisoners.

Churchill was released on a personal recognizance bond and placed on an electronic monitoring device. He allegedly cut the tether Sunday and is on the run.

Anyone with information regarding his whereabouts is asked to call the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office at 906-635-6355 or dial 911.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
