Iron River traffic stop results in arrest of two suspects on drug charges

Iron River, MI - An early August traffic stop in Iron River resulted in the arrest of two suspects on drug related charges.

According to Iron River Police, a traffic stop was conducted on a Buick LaSabre driven by James Bardo. He was taken into custody after Central dispatch confirmed he had four felony warrants out of Wisconsin. Officers interviewed Bardo’s passenger, Carol Chacon, and conducted a search of the vehicle which resulted the discovery of scales and other drug paraphernalia. Chacon handed over a white powdery substance she took from her brassiere which filed tested positive for cocaine.

Bardo is charged with 2-counts of possession of cocaine, operating an unregistered vehicle, operating a vehicle with no license, and habitual offender-4th offense. He’s being held on a $50,000 cash bond. Bardo is also wanted in Wisconsin for absconding felony parole-$100,000 bond.

Chacon is charged with 2-counts of possession of cocaine. She’s being held on a $5,000 cash bond.
