Man accused of making threats toward Menominee County Courthouse arrested in Wisconsin

MENOMINEE, MI— A man who allegedly made threats against the Menominee County Courthouse and Prosecutor Jeffrey Rogg last week is in custody.

Last Tuesday around 9 a.m., a citizen was walking to the courthouse when a man approached them, saying the County stole his wife, family, and van. The subject allegedly said he was there to shoot everyone and was going to shoot Rogg in between the eyes.

The citizen also reported the man imitated a pistol with his hand and put his finger within four inches of the resident’s face.

The suspect—identified as 53-year-old Michael Egan of Gainesville, Florida—was seen leaving the parking lot in a white Dodge pickup truck.

Egan was located and arrested by the Marinette Police Department. He’s being held in the Marinette County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Michigan.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
