Superintendent Zach Sedgwick comments on possible MSHS embezzlement

MARQUETTE, MI— The superintendent of Marquette Area Public Schools has responded to a report of possible embezzlement at Marquette Senior High School.

On December 19th, administrative staff notified the Marquette Police Department that money might have been taken. Officers initiated an investigation, which continues.

A suspect has been identified but not yet charged.

Superintendent Zach Sedgwick issued a statement Tuesday saying, “Our administrative team has taken action to assure no further damage may occur. We appreciate the trust our community places in us and will continue providing our full support to the Marquette Police Department as they investigate this incident.”

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
