Juvenile apprehended for Newberry store break-in

NEWBERRY, MI— A suspect in the robbery of the Newberry Dollar General store has been identified.

A burglar alarm went off Friday around 5 a.m. Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste. Marie Post responded and found someone had broken in and taken several items.

Investigation led to the identification of a suspect—a juvenile living in the Newberry area.

The juvenile has been apprehended and referred to court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
