19-year-old Marquette resident arrested for possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance

MARQUETTE, MI— A 19-year-old is jailed on drug charges following a traffic stop by the Marquette Police Department.

Officers conducted the stop Monday around 8:30 p.m. on South Fifth Street near West Spring Street. As they talked to the teen driver, police made observations regarding prohibited substances. Further investigation led to the discovery of a large quantity of a controlled prescription substance.

The driver was arrested on a charge of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance and lodged in the Marquette County Jail.

A search warrant of the driver’s Marquette residence uncovered additional illegal substances.

The incident remains under investigation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
