STEPHENSON, WI— Two people are dead in an apparent murder/suicide in Marinette County.
Sunday around 5:13 p.m., Marinette County Dispatch received a call saying a man had shot his wife several times at a house on South 5th Street in Stephenson. The woman was taken away from the scene by another party, but she later died of her injuries.
The victim has been identified as Erica Noble of Crivitz.
Deputies and members of the Marinette County Special Response Team, Crisis Negotiations, and Drone Team responded to the scene and established a perimeter around the residence. Officials said the suspect, Troy Noble, also of Crivitz, was armed and still in the residence.
Officers attempted to contact Noble to ask him to surrender, but they were unsuccessful. He exited the residence and ultimately died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The case remains under investigation by the Marinette County Sheriff’s Office, the Marinette County District Attorney’s Office, and the County Medical Examiner’s Office. Assisting at the scene were the Wisconsin State Patrol, Marinette Police Department, Bay Area Rescue, and Twin Bridge Rescue.
