Ironwood troopers arrest woman on third drunk driving charge

IRONWOOD, MI— An Ironwood woman has been arrested for felonious drunk driving.

Saturday around 2:30 a.m., Michigan State Police from the Wakefield Post noticed a vehicle traveling on Lowell Street near Pewabic Street in Ironwood. The vehicle was committing multiple hazardous driving violations, including driving on the wrong side of the road. Troopers conducted a traffic stop.

A 48-year-old woman was arrested for operating while intoxicated-3rd offense, a felony, and operating without a valid driver's license, a misdemeanor.

The woman was lodged in the Gogebic County Jail and released on a $1,000 bond. Arraignment is set for November 25.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
