Downstate man sentenced for arranging drug sales in the U.P.

Undated - A Macomb County man has been sentenced to 11 years in prison for trafficking meth in the U-P. 31-year-old Charles Knuckles-Junior of Roseville was given 132-months in federal prison for leading a conspiracy that trafficked more than 500-grams of the drug. He was accused of arranging meth sales from Detroit to Houghton and Mackinac counties in December 2022 and January 2023.

The Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team and U-S Drug Enforcement Administration used a confidential informant in the case. Four other people were indicted on federal meth-related charges.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
