Three charged with assault with a dangerous weapon following incident at Three Lakes inn

THREE LAKES, MI— Three people were arrested for felonious assault in Baraga County Sunday, following an incident at a Three Lakes motel.

Around 12:30 a.m., Michigan State Police from the Calumet Post responded to the Bear Paw Inn. Someone called 911 after three individuals allegedly assaulted two other people. A firearm was reportedly discharged several times during the incident, but no one was hit.

The MSP located and arrested two men and one woman. One of the men resisted arrest. All were lodged in the Baraga County Jail.

On Tuesday, Austin Conn, 18, of Ishpeming, Jeremy Vetter, 24, of Michigamme, and Alexis Hernandez, 21, of Michigamme were all arraigned on a charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. Vetter was also charged with resisting/obstructing a police officer. Hernandez was also arraigned on a charge of assault and battery.

A probable cause conference is set for December 3 in Baraga County District Court.
