Three Chippewa County residents arrested for dealing meth, stealing property

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— Law enforcement in Chippewa County have arrested three Soo Township residents in connection with a meth and stolen property ring.

TRIDENT had been investigating meth dealers in the area when stolen property investigations by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department and Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office linked the same suspects.

Multiple search warrants were executed. Officials uncovered half a pound of meth, several thousand dollars, a firearm, a stolen trailer, and thousands of items suspected to be stolen.

Arrested were Shane Mullett, 51, Brandy Barkie, 44, and Boyd Rolston, 48. They’ve been arraigned on the following charges:

Shane Mullett

  • Possession with intent to deliver meth
  • Conspiracy to deliver meth
  • Felon in possession of a weapon
  • Weapons offense
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Maintaining a drug house
  • Habitual offender-4th offense

Brandy Barkie

  • Possession with intent to deliver meth
  • Conspiracy to deliver meth
  • Maintaining a drug house

Boyd Rolston

  • Conspiracy to deliver meth
  • Possession of meth
  • Two counts of breaking and entering
  • Possession of stolen property
  • Habitual offender-4th offense 

Officials say the stolen items are from cabins, houses, businesses, yards, tool sheds, and active construction sites. Law enforcement does not have known victims for most of the items.

Anyone whose property has been taken is urged to call Detective Moran at the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, at 906-635-6355.
