MSP arrests man for bringing drugs into jail, outstanding warrants

ESCANABA, MI— A Delta County man was arrested by Michigan State Police on outstanding warrants and drug charges in Escanaba last Wednesday.

Troopers stopped a vehicle on South Lincoln Road for a violation around 8:50 p.m. Brian Johnson, 33, of Rock was arrested on the outstanding warrants.

After Johnson was taken to the Delta County Jail, officers found meth concealed on his body. He was additionally charged with possession of meth and bringing contraband into a jail.

Johnson is next due in court on January 30.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
