Negaunee man arrested for possessing meth, driving while drugged

NEGAUNEE TOWNSHIP, MI— A Negaunee man has been arrested by Michigan State Police for driving under the influence of drugs, among other charges.

On Monday, a trooper from the Negaunee Post conducted a traffic stop on Midway Drive near US-41 in Negaunee Township. During the stop, the male driver switched seats with a female passenger in an attempt to hide the fact he’d been driving.

Derrick Cram, 35, was arrested for driving under a suspended license, operating while under the influence of drugs-3rd offense, and for being in possession of meth.

Cram was lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $25,000 bond.

A probable cause conference is set for January 23 in 96th District Court.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
