Chicago men arrested in Marinette County for having numerous drugs in vehicle

Marinette County Sheriff's Office

WAUSAUKEE, WI— A number of different drugs were found in a vehicle after a Marinette deputy conducted a traffic stop last month.

The vehicle was stopped on an equipment violation January 27 on US-141 near Stevenson Road in Wausaukee. After the deputy smelled marijuana coming from the car, he used the Sheriff’s Office K9 Vinny to smell for drugs.

The dog alerted and the deputy found a large package containing several smaller packages. They contained cocaine, meth, fentanyl, Ecstasy pills, marijuana, heroin, and prescription pills. The search resulted in the seizure of 129.82 grams of illegal drugs.

Two men—Preston Bennett, 46, and Dominique Grayson, 38, both of Chicago—were arrested on various drug possession charges and lodged in the Marinette County Jail.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
