Delta County deputies find numerous drugs, an illegal firearm following traffic stop Sunday

DELTA COUNTY, MI— Two men were arrested on gun and drug charges in Delta County Sunday morning.

Around 10:30 a.m., the Delta County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on US-2/41 near the Island Resort and Casino. It was occupied by three males.

Deputies, officers with the Hannahville Police Department, and Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post conducted a search of the vehicle. They found $13,503.00 in U.S. currency, approximately 197 grams of cocaine, 103 grams of suspected fentanyl, and 101 grams of ecstasy. Also located were tabs of acid, ketamine, gabapentin pills, amphetamine pills, and psilocybin mushrooms.

Police found one of the male passengers to be illegally in possession of a handgun and ammunition.

The driver and a passenger were lodged in the Delta County Jail. Their names have not yet been released.
