Suspect arrested in 'high-risk' operation in Kingsford

KINGSFORD, MI— The Kingsford Public Safety Department arrested a suspect Monday, following an investigation involving firearms and narcotics.

Officers say the "high-risk" operation included the Critical Incident Response Team, due to the dangerous nature of the situation. They say the coordinated effort among law enforcement ensured a safe and effective operation, with no injuries to civilians or police reported.

Authorities have charged the suspect with multiple offenses related to possession of illegal firearms and the distribution of narcotics. No name has been released, pending arraignment.

Assisting in the incident were the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office, Iron Mountain Police Department, Norway Police Department, KIND Drug Enforcement Team, Integrity Care Ambulance, and the Dickinson County Sheriff’s Office Dispatch Team.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
