ISHPEMING TOWNSHIP, MI— Michigan State Police arrested two people wanted for a Minnesota homicide in Ishpeming Township Monday.
Troopers were alerted by the Moorhead, Minnesota Police that the suspects in Sunday’s murder of a man were believed to be in the Ishpeming area.
Monday morning, troopers from Eighth District Headquarters stopped the suspects’ vehicle on M-28 near North 2nd Street in Ishpeming Township. A 35-year-old man and 32-year-old woman were taken into custody and lodged in the Marquette County Jail to await extradition.
The Moorhead man is charged with 2nd-degree murder with intent-not premeditated, 2nd-degree murder-drive by shooting, 1st degree attempted murder with intent while committing a drive by shooting, and 2nd-degree attempted murder with intent-not premeditated.
The Ishpeming woman is charged with aiding an offender-2nd-degree intentional.
This arrest was the result of a coordinated effort between the MSP Special Investigation Section, the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, the Eighth District Traffic Safety Team, the Ishpeming Police Department, Moorhead Police Department, and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension.
