MARQUETTE, MI— A Marquette man has been arrested for child sexually abusive activity.

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post say Donald Sims, 63, was arrested after officials found he was chatting with and receiving images from an underage child. A search of his residence resulted in the seizure of digital evidence.

Sims is charged with three counts of child sexually abusive activity, one count of accosting a child for immoral purposes, and four counts of using a computer to commit a crime. He was arraigned in Marquette District Court on Friday.

Sims remains lodged in the Marquette County Jail on a $110,000 bond with conditions. He is next due in court on May 1.

The MSP Negaunee Post was assisted by the MSP Computer Crimes Unit, the MSP Wayland Post, and the Marquette City Police Department.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
