Marquette County suspect arraigned on multiple counts of criminal sexual conduct

MARQUETTE, MI— An Ishpeming man is facing criminal sexual conduct charges in two separate cases.

Michigan State Police from the Negaunee Post arrested Gerald Burton, 34, following multiple investigations.

On April 23, Burton was arraigned on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct. His bond was set at $2,000.

On April 25, Burton appeared again in 96th District Court for a second arraignment on additional charges stemming from a separate investigation. Charges included one count of first-degree criminal sexual conduct and two counts of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct. His bond was set again at $2,000.

A preliminary exam is set for May 14.

Troopers believe there may be other victims, witnesses, or individuals with additional information about Burton’s activities. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the Negaunee Post at 906-475-9922.
