Ontonagon man arrested on drug, weapons charges

ONTONAGON, MI— An Ontonagon man was jailed following a traffic stop in the village Wednesday.

Around 8:35 p.m., a Sheriff’s deputy conducted a traffic stop on the 49-year-old. Following an investigation, the man was arrested on multiple drug and weapons charges, along with traffic violations.

The suspect is lodged in the Ontonagon County Jail, pending arraignment.

The Sheriff's Office was assisted by troopers from the Michigan State Police Wakefield Post and a K-9 unit from the Iron Mountain Post.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
