MARINETTE, WI— Two people have been arrested following the drowning of a 13-year-old Marinette boy last week.
Marinette Police say they responded to the Menominee River around 1:30 p.m. on August 20. They used a lifeboat to remove Jakob Bowerman from the water and took him to Aurora Medical Center-Bay Area. Jakob was later transferred to St. Vincent’s Hospital in Green Bay, where he was put on life support.
He succumbed to his injuries on Saturday.
A 16-year-old boy and 21-year old man were arrested following further investigation. No other details have been released.
Marinette Police were assisted by the Menominee Police Department, Marinette Fire Department, Menominee Fire Department, and Michigan Department of Natural Resources.
