Chippewa County fugitive nabbed in Alabama

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— A Chippewa County woman wanted by police on charges related to the delivery of meth has been found in Alabama.

The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office says Shannan Davis, 46, fled Michigan and was wanted on an absconding warrant. She was also a habitual offender.

The Sheriff’s Office received several tips that helped in the investigation.

On Tuesday, the CCSO and deputies from the Calhoun County, Alabama Sheriff’s Office found and arrested Davis in Alabama.

Her next court date in Chippewa County has not yet been scheduled.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
