Soo residents arrested on multiple drug charges

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— Two people were arrested last weekend during an investigation into the sale of meth and prescription pills in Chippewa County.

The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Taskforce had made multiple narcotics purchases during the operation. TRIDENT executed a search warrant Saturday at a residence in Sault Ste. Marie and found additional meth, along with other evidence.

Two Sault residents were arrested and charged as follows:

John Jacob Cain, 42

  • 4 counts of delivery of meth
  • Delivery of hydrocodone
  • Possession with intent to deliver meth
  • Smuggling narcotics into a correctional facility
  • Operating a drug house
  • Possession of meth
  • Habitual offender

Andrea Rose Gatlin, 30

  • Possession of meth
  • Operating a drug house

Both were lodged in the Chippewa County Correctional Facility and arraigned on Monday.

TRIDENT was assisted by the Sault Sainte Marie Police Department and the Bay Mills K-9 Unit.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
