MANISTIQUE, MI— A suspect has been identified in the robbery of a Manistique convenience/liquor store on Monday.
The Manistique Department of Public Safety says around 7:35 p.m., a man entered the Apple Barrel on Deer Street. After a short conversation with the employee working there, the man demanded all the money from the till.
After he was given the money, the suspect fled on foot across Deer Street and northbound on N. 1st Street. Officers and the Michigan State Police searched the area but were unable to find the man.
The Apple Barrel employee was not injured.
Officials released an image of the suspect. A person of interest was identified through the efforts of Manistique Public Safety, the MSP, and members of the public.
The identity of the suspect has not yet been released and the incident remains under investigation.
