Accused drug trafficker arrested in Sault Ste. Marie

SAULT STE. MARIE, MI— A Sault Ste. Marie man has been arrested for transporting narcotics to Chippewa County.

On Tuesday, detectives with Trident executed a search warrant at a Soo residence and found meth, cocaine, prescription pills, and U.S. currency.

Patrick Thomas, Jr., 33, was arrested and charged with two counts of delivery of cocaine, possession with intent to deliver meth, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and for being a habitual offender.

Trident was assisted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department, the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office, and Central Dispatch.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
