Substitute teacher at Bark River-Harris School arrested for criminal sexual conduct

HARRIS, MI— A Gladstone man has been arrested for criminal sexual conduct involving students at Bark River-Harris School.

Last December, the Menominee County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officer received a complaint regarding an incident involving a substitute teacher and minor students.

Investigation led to the arrest Tuesday of Timothy Brandt, 58, of Gladstone. He’s charged with two counts of second-degree criminal sexual conduct.

Brandt remains lodged at the Menominee County Jail on a $5,000 cash/surety bond.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
