Woman out on parole from Houghton County arrested on meth charges in Gogebic County

IRONWOOD, MI— A Laurium woman has been arrested on meth-related charges in Ironwood.

On February 21, GIANT conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an equipment violation. It contained multiple people entering Michigan from Wisconsin.

A search of the vehicle uncovered around 56 grams of meth and items affiliated with the trafficking and sales of meth.

Chelsey Kuopos, 36, was taken into custody. She is currently out on bond out of Houghton County.

Kuopos was charged with possession with intent to deliver meth, possession of meth, and possession of meth in a park.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
