IRONWOOD, MI— Four people have been arrested by the Gogebic-Iron Area Narcotics Team for smuggling drugs between Wisconsin and Michigan.
Officials say at the end of 2025, investigators discovered several suspects were bringing large amounts of meth and heroin in rental vehicles from southern Wisconsin to Gogebic County and Iron County, Wisconsin.
GIANT executed a search warrant in Ironwood this week and found over 1 pound of meth, over 5 ounces of heroin, black tar heroin, fentanyl packaged for distribution, and other drug-related items.
Arrested were:
Megan Benton, 22, of Ironwood
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver
- Conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine
- Maintaining a drug house
- Evidence tampering
- Resisting and obstructing
- Possession of heroin with intent to deliver
Cynthia Sullivan, 55, of Ironwood
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver
- Possession of dangerous weapons (metallic knuckles)
- Conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine
- Possession of a Schedule 2
- Maintaining a drug house
- Possession of heroin with intent to deliver
Edmund Hampton, 40, of Racine, Wisconsin
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver
- Conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine
- Possession of heroin with intent to deliver
Tyrrail Hall, 44, of Racine
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver
- Conspiracy to deliver methamphetamine
- Evidence tampering
- Resisting or obstructing
- Possession of a Schedule 2
- Possession of heroin with intent to deliver
All have been arraigned in Gogebic County District Court. More arrests are expected.
