CHIPPEWA COUNTY, MI— The Tri-County Drug Enforcement Team concluded an ongoing narcotics investigation with two arrests over the weekend.

Trident had information that large amounts of meth were being brought to the area and sold.

On Saturday, a Chippewa County Sheriff’s deputy tried to stop a suspect vehicle, but the driver took off. A short time later, the vehicle pulled into a driveway on Mackinac Trail, south of Rudyard. A package was thrown out of the vehicle and recovered by officers. It contained over 10 ounces of meth.

Deputies arrested Sammy Ledford, 43, and Brandon Teeple, 43both of Brimley. They’re charged with possession with intent to deliver meth and for being a habitual offender. Ledford is also charged with fleeing and eluding.

Both remain lodged in the Chippewa County Correctional Facility.
