MSP Computer Crimes Unit nabs Wakefield man for possession of child sexually abusive material

WAKEFIELD, MI— A Wakefield man has been arrested for possessing child sexually abusive material.

The Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force has identified the suspect as George Hilty, 41. An investigation was initiated by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children when it was learned Hilty may have accessed and shared illicit content on the internet. A search of his residence resulted in the seizure of digital evidence.

Hilty is charged with three counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material. He was arraigned in Gogebic County District Court on Thursday.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
