Ontonagon Man Sentenced for Child Sexually Abusive Activity

ONTONAGON COUNTY, MICH. – A Bruce Crossing man has been sentenced on multiple charges relating to child sexual abuse.
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Computer Crimes Unit, Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force says 36-year old Brent Edward Mayer was convicted April 9th and sentenced May 20th in 32nd Circuit Court in Ontonagon County. He was convicted of all 16 felony counts against him, including ‘possession of child sexually abusive material - aggravated,’ ‘child sexually abusive activity - aggravated,’ and ‘using a computer to commit a crime.’ Mayer is considered an habitual offender – 2nd offense, which increased his penalities. In all, he was sentenced to a minimum of 22 years and a maximum of 37.5 years in prison
