Luce County, MI – A Newberry woman faces home invasion charges relating to the theft of items from a Newberry home. State Police from the Sault Ste Marie Post say the incident happened June 3rd at about 5:30pm at a home on John Street. Troopers were dispatched on a report of a subject allegedly entering a residence without permission and stealing items from the home.After an initial investigation, 35-year old Gina Briggs was arrested and lodged in the Luce County jail. During the arrest, troopers recovered stolen property.
Briggs was arraigned in 92nd District Court on June 5th on charges of home invasion - second degree. She was granted a personal recognizance bond, with tether and other standard conditions. Her next court date is scheduled for June 18th.
