State Troopers Arrest Man Following Alleged Kidnapping and Vehicle Theft

Chippewa County, MI – Michigan State Police from the Sault Ste Marie post have arrested a man in Kincheloe after he allegedly stole a vehicle in Green Bay and kidnapped an individual at knifepoint.

         Green Bay police informed the MSP of the incident on June 9th, and troopers were able to locate the abandoned and broken down vehicle on M-28 near M-221. A short time later, troopers responded to a 9-1-1 call in Kinchloe about an alleged kidnapping. The MSP took the suspect into custody and lodged him in the Chippewa County jail.

         Twenty-six year old Blaze Gugin was arraigned Wednesday in 91st District Court on charges of Unlawful Imprisonment and Receiving and Concealing Stolen Property- Motor Vehicle. His bond was set at $250,000 cash with tether and other standard conditions. He is next due in court on June 22, 2026.
