ESCANABA, MI— Charges have been brought against three Cornell residents accused of cruelty to animals.
On February 3, 2026, Michigan State Police from the Gladstone Post received a report of animal neglect on County Road 426 in Cornell Township. They found several dead animals, including cats, rabbits, pigs, and goats. They also seized and removed malnourished live animals in unhealthy conditions, including 14 cats, 12 rabbits, and a sheep.
The Delta County Prosecutor’s Office has charged Brianna Makosky, 23, Kruzz Makosky, 22, and Nichole Jarvey, 45, with one felony count of abandoning/cruelty—25 or more animals and eight misdemeanor counts of simple or gross neglect resulting in the death of a single animal.
All were arraigned Monday in 94th District Court. They remain lodged in the Delta County Jail on $10,000 cash or surety bonds. Their next court appearance is August 20.
