ST. IGNACE,MI— A Texas man who worked on Mackinac Island has been arrested for possession of child sexually abusive material.

The Michigan State Police Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force says Morgan Mitchell, 24, of Dalhart, Texas was arrested when it was learned he may have accessed and shared illicit content online.

At the time the tip was received, Mitchell was working seasonally on Mackinac Island. A search warrant was executed at his residence and evidence was seized. Right afterwards, Mitchell returned to Texas.

In collaboration with Texas law enforcement, he was found and arrested. Mitchell waived extradition and was brought back to Michigan.

He’s charged with five counts of aggravated possession of child sexually abusive material, five counts of using a computer to commit a crime, and three counts of capturing or distributing an image of an unclothed person.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
