Officials say new mixed-use development will boost economy, bring new housing to downtown Marquette

MARQUETTE, MI— Governor Gretchen Whitmer and the Michigan Economic Development Corporation announced Wednesday that a Marquette revitalization project has received funding from the Michigan Strategic Fund.

Ore Dock Real Estate plans to construct and rehabilitate a mixed-use development at 214 Front Street. It will include four residential units, commercial space, a restaurant, and an outdoor beer garden. The Ore Dock Brewery will also expand its existing facility.

The project is expected to generate a total capital investment of $7.8 million. The City of Marquette Brownfield Redevelopment Authority has received Michigan Strategic Fund approval of state tax capture valued at more than $352,000 to be used for the reimbursement of brownfield activities at the site.
