AAA: Gas prices jump

DEARBORN, MI (AP)-- Triple A Michigan reports gas prices statewide jumped 20 cents from a week ago.

Michigan drivers are now paying an average of $3.45 per gallon for regular unleaded, which is a new 2024-high. The price is 45-cents more than this time last month and 4-cents more than this time last year.

AAA Michigan surveys daily fuel costs at 2,800 gas stations in the state. The club says the highest price for gas was in Jackson at $3.48 per gallon, and the lowest price was about $3.29 a gallon in the Marquette area

Motorists are paying an average of $51 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline; a discount of about $7 from 2023's highest price last August.
