SAULT STE. MARIE, Mich. (AP) — Lake Superior State University has signed an agreement allowing students to serve as unpaid interns with the U.S. Coast Guard.
The Coast Guard says the agreement was finalized Tuesday with the school in Sault Ste. Marie, strengthening a previous pact made four years ago.
Under the deal, students from Lake Superior State University will be able to work in a volunteer capacity with Coast Guard members.
In order to be eligible for consideration, prospective applicants must be enrolled at least halftime with the school and be at least 16 years of age.
