NMU looking for new president

MARQUETTE, MI--   The Northern Michigan University Board of Trustees has hired a firm to start the search for the school’s next president.

The board selected Witt/Keiffer to identify potential candidates nationwide.

Members also reached out to campus leaders to see what qualities they’re looking for in Northern’s leader.

The board has also established a Presidential Search Advisory Committee.  It’s made up of employees, students, alumni, and board members and will assist the board in identifying candidates for the presidency.

Interim President David Haynes’ tenure is set to end June 30 of 2014.

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
