Executive born in South Range to be MTU commencement speaker

HOUGHTON, MI--   A Fortune-150 executive and Houghton County native is the featured speaker at Michigan Tech’s midyear commencement this weekend.  

Scott Usitalo is a native of South Range.  He’s the president of Kimberly-Clark’s Family Care Division, which includes such brands as Scott, Viva, and Kleenex.  He’ll receive an honorary doctorate during the ceremony.

More than 400 students will graduate at commencement, which takes place Saturday at 10:30 a.m. in the SDC Wood Gym. 

Nicole was born near Detroit but has lived in the U.P. most of her life. She graduated from Marquette Senior High School and attended Michigan State and Northern Michigan Universities, graduating from NMU in 1993 with a degree in English.
